Obituary:
The death occurred on Friday of a well known Lilydale identity, Mr John H. Rihoy, of Cave Hill Rd. Owing to the loss of his sight he was unable to work . . despite this he maintained a cheerful disposition, due in a large way to his wife who attended him in all his excursions
abroad. Latterly his health was failing and he passed away aged 76 years. The funeral took place at Lilydale on Saturday, the Rev. F. C. Ivory officiating. Deceased was the uncle of Alf., William and Arthur Sebire, of Lilydale. [Lilydale Express 27-11-1931]
Bridget Rihoy
Obituary:
A familiar figure at Lilydale will be seen no more, Mrs Bridget Rihoy. A remarkably active woman for her 86 years, Mrs Rihoy lived alone in her Cave Hill road cottage, and was greatly respected by all who came in contact with her; and, considering that she had been a resident from more than 30 years that circle of friends was large. Mrs Rihoy had the misfortune to fall one day last week, and suffered rather severe injuries. She was taken to Lilydale Hospital but, despite every care and attention, died on Friday morning. The burial in Lilydale cemetery was followed by a good number of sorrowing relatives and friends. [Lilydale Express 17-11-1944]

George Frederick Rose
Biography:
Young man’s body found – The disappearance of George F. Rose, 26, who had been missing from his home at Wallace Ave, Seville, since March 23, caused quite a sensation at Seville and led to a gruesome discovery . . Constable Eldridge forwarded notices of the disappearance and a description to district police stations. On Sunday he obtained the assistance of black trackers from Dandenong police station . . the tracks eventually led to the foot of Steels Range where they discovered Rose’s body, suspended from a tree by a twelve foot rope. Life was extinct. The body was brought to Lilydale and interred at the Lilydale cemetery. Much sympathy is felt for the parents, old and respected residents of Seville. The work of the black trackers was exceptionally smart…taking only 3 hours to discover his body. An inquiry is to be held. [Lilydale Express 03-04-1925]
