Archives
Since its establishment in 1971, the society have developed extensive files on people, places and events of the district and welcomes any further contributions, particularly family histories, documents and images.
These cover the townships within the society’s collecting area: Montrose, Kilsyth, Chirnside Park, Lilydale, Coldstream, Yering, Gruyere, Killara, Seville and Silvan.
We also have extensive files on Dame Nellie Melba, her father David Mitchell who established the Cave Hill Quarry, Shire of Lillydale files, World War I and II research and files on many of the local community and sporting clubs.
Our resources and library pages list other material held by the society which may assist family historians.
