About Us

About Us
Formed in 1971, the Lilydale & District Historical Society is an incorporated association and affiliated with the Royal Historical Society of Victoria. We are located at the Old Lilydale Court House at 61 Castella Street, Lilydale.
We maintain an extensive paper-based archive on people, places and events of the area, including Dame Nellie Melba and her family.

The archive is open Fridays from 1 to 4pm, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays from 11am to 4pm. Due to Covid-19 restrictions we will only be open on Sundays by appointment only. Call Lorraine Smith on 9735 1104 or Sue Thompson on 0475 219 884 to arrange a time.
