We . . record the death of Mr Henry Palmer, one of the oldest residents of the district, at the age of 69 years. The late Mr Palmer was an old and well respected identity of Lilydale and the father of Mrs Chas. Mason of Lilydale. [Lilydale Express 14-7-1905]

Biography:
Isobella Macintyre was the daughter of Thomas Macintyre and Jane nee Burn and was born at Westernport in about 1836.
Death Notice:
On 9 June at her late residence, Yering, of heart failure, Isabella, the dearly beloved wife of H. Parfitt aged 72 years. Interred at Lilydale on 11th inst. [Lilydale Express 16-06-1911]
Obituary:
Mrs H. Parfitt – there passed away on June 9th a very old resident of Yering in the person of the late Mrs Parfitt at the age of 72. For several years past she had been practically laid aside by illness and had been compelled to lead a secluded existence….Our sympathy to Mr Parfitt who about 50 years ago was Church of England stipendiary reader of this district….[She] was formerly Miss Macintyre…..one of the oldest families in the district….A memorial service will be held at Yering State School….the place of interment being Lilydale cemetery…..[Lilydale Express 16-06-1911]
Primus Gilbert Parfitt
Obituary:
Primus Gilbert Parfitt – news of the death of the only son of Mr Henry Parfitt of ‘Olinda’ Yering….much loved by many friends….[He] was born February 10th, 1872….and regularly attended Black Springs State school…..moving to Yering with his parents in 1876…..[He] left school at 15 – helping with work around the home…..years ago he underwent an operation, followed by several others…..a few weeks ago he was sent to Dr Stirling’s private hospital…..[Lilydale Express 26-01- 1912]
Henry Parfitt
Biography:
Born about 1833 at Trowbridge Wiltshire, Henry was the son of Samuel Saunders Spalding Parfitt and Emma Deacon. He married Isobella Macintyre who was born about 1836 at Westernport. They had Primus Gilbert Parfitt b 1872 at Lilydale and adop ted Mary Ethel (nee Mary Ellen Corr born 1886 in Melbourne). By 1872 the family were at Black Springs and on July 9, 1876 they had moved to Yering. [LDHS files]

Obituary:
News of the sudden death of Mr William Park of the Sportsman’s Arms Hotel, Coldstream….was received with widespread regret….He was only ill for two days….His remains were interred at Lilydale cemetery on Thursday, the members of the M.U.I.O.O.F. marching in front of the hearse…[he] was born and brought up at Coldstream, the youngest of a family of 21 children, and his mother Mrs Park sen. survives him. He married Miss Elizabeth Fulton daughter of Andrew Fulton of ‘The Towers’….He leaves a widow two daughters and one son….An enthusiastic cricketer and huntsman, and a member of the original Yarra Glen Hunt Club. He was a member the Loyal Lilydale Lodge of the M.U.I.O.O.F. for 20 years….[Lilydale Express 10-09-1909]

Biography:
The first double wedding at Lilydale sisters Miss Mary Fulton and Miss Elizabeth Fulton, only daughters of Mr Andrew Fulton, of ‘Fulton Grange’, Lilydale…Miss E. Fulton married Mr W. Park, youngest son of Mr and Mrs Park of Coldstream….[Lilydale Express 21-10-1892] Note: Fulton Grange is now known as The Towers.
Obituary:
The death took place on Monday last, at her daughter’s (Mrs G. Whelan) residence, Castella St Lilydale, of Mrs Elizabeth Park, widow of the late William Park of Coldstream. The deceased who was only 38 was the youngest daughter of the late Andrew Fallon , of ‘The Towers’. She leaves two daughters and one son….[Lilydale Express 13-12-1912]
